Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus fought off a fire in a stable in Wrotham yesterday. Two fire engines from KFRS were called to the blaze off Whitehall at 7.42pm. The roof of the building was well alight when crews arrived but they quickly brought the fire under control and extinguished it by 8.33pm. The blaze destroyed 50 per cent of the building and its contents. There are no reports of any injuries to livestock. Crews stayed until 9.30pm to finish damping down at the property.
