Technical Officer/ Environmental Health Officer – Environmental Protection

  1. Are you enthusiastic, highly motivated with Environmental protection experience?

    It is an exciting time to join Sevenoaks District Council's Environmental Health Team. We have recently brought our service ‘back in house’ and are looking forward to a bright future under new management and renewed direction.

    The Role

    Within this role you will be expected to independently manage a varied caseload covering all aspects of environmental protection. You will have a thorough understanding of statutory nuisance legislation, anti-social behaviour legislation, complaint investigation processes and have experience responding to planning and licensing consultations.

    We are particularly interested to hear from candidates with experience and/ or qualifications in one or more Environmental Protection specialisms such as Acoustics, Contaminated Land, Air Quality or Private Water Supply Regulation.

    You should be well organised with a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines together with a desire to develop.

    As a committed team player you need good written and verbal communication skills. Dealing with the public is an important part of the role and you must be dedicated to providing high quality customer service.

    Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

    • A Levels or Equivalent
    • Full Driving License with a vehicle available for work purposes
    • A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role or a BSc/ MSc in Environmental Health

    How to get to us:

    Sevenoaks is only half an hour from central London by train. You will be based at the Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks, Kent, TN13 1HG, however due to the current pandemic and current Government advice at the time of advert the role will require a combination of both remote and office based working. A free staff car park is available on site.
