Senior Private Sector Housing Officer

  1. Our Private Sector Housing team seeks to bring about improvements in the conditions and standards of management of private sector housing.

    You’ll assess properties using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and inspect & licence Houses in Multiple Occupation. You’ll also investigate complaints regarding housing conditions and where appropriate and following legislation, serve enforcement notices.

    In addition to this you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day management of our Hever Road Gypsy and Traveller site and facilities and assist with the implementation of the Council’s Empty Homes strategy.

    If you have a background in housing then you’ll know what it takes, an organised approach, excellent communication and the ability to resolve difficult situations.

    This role will be based at our Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks Kent TN13 1HG. We currently operate a hybrid working model for the majority of our roles where your working time will be divided between the office (2-3 days) and home working (2-3 days).
