Planning Assistant (One Year contract - starting in July 2021)

  1. Are you enthusiastic, highly motivated with planning experience?

    This is a varied and rewarding role where you will work across all sections of the Planning department to contribute to the delivery of the service. You will engage with developers and other key stakeholders, enabling quality developments whilst maintaining the character of the District.

    The Role

    This role provides technical and administrative support, which is vital to the effective work of the whole team. You will also hold a planning caseload of householder applications and other small scale applications.

    You should be well organised with a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines together with a desire to learn. The post is heavily based around our IT software so you will need good IT skills (We use Idox / Uniform as our database and Enterprise to manage application tasks).

    As a committed team player you need good written and verbal communication skills. Dealing with the public is an important part of the role and you must be dedicated to providing high quality customer service.

    Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

    • A Levels or Equivalent
    • Knowledge of the Planning process
    • Full Driving License

    How to get to us:

    Sevenoaks is only half an hour from central London by train. You will be based at the Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks, Kent. TN13 1HG, however due to the current pandemic and current Government advice at the time of advert the role will require a combination of both remote and office based working. A free staff car park is available on site.
