  1. A new conservation area in Sevenoaks Weald has been proposed to help maintain the area’s high-quality townscape and environment.

Sevenoaks District Council is proposing a new conservation area based on The Green and properties around it, including the Windmill public house extending southwards along Long Barn Road to include the Grade II listed Long Barn.

The public consultation process on this proposed conservation area will run until Friday 25 October.

After designation any future proposals for development within the boundary would be required to ‘preserve or enhance’ the Conservation Area.

Cllr Ian Bosley, The Council’s Cabinet Member for Planning, says:
Public comments are now being invited on the draft Appraisal and Management Plan, available at www.sevenoaks.gov.uk/conservation-area-appraisals.

If you have any queries regarding this process please contact conservation@sevenoaks.gov.uk, or call 01732 227000.
