Following on from their hugely successful run of ‘Educating Rita’, Half Full Theatre Company returns to The Cock this July with their brand new production of ‘SHAKERS RE-STIRRED’ a hilarious yet touching play by John Godber and Jane Thornton.

‘Shakers’ tells the story of Adele, Carol, Mel and Nicky, four cocktail waitresses in the ‘Shakers’ cocktail bar who do their best to keep the customers fed, watered and happy (at the same time hoping that they keep their hands to themselves), dealing with spotty youths intent on fixing a date, yuppie business men with a strange idea of humour, a crowd of girls on a hen night, power dressing business women and many others. Couple all this with fighting off the slimy boss who seems intent on getting the girls to wear skimpier and skimpier outfits and you will have just a small idea of what goes on behind the scenes in ‘Shakers’. The girls all have their own stories, ambitions and dreams. Four wonderful actresses play not only the waitresses but also all the customers, male, female, drunk, sober, aggressive, flirtatious, awkward and deluded in a fast paced roller coaster of a play that will have you holding your sides and reaching for your hankies in equal measure. Those of you fortunate enough to get tickets for ‘Educating Rita’ will know that this is a night not to be missed also that tickets sell fast. So, book early, bring a friend (or ten!) and prepare for an evening of fun! Tickets include a free glass of wine, a sumptuous buffet dinner. All this for only £30. Why go to the West End when it is right here on your doorstep.
