  3. Sevenoaks District Seniors Action Forum

    Web: www.sdsaf.org
SDSAF is an independent organisation, now with over 220 Members (April 2012) so we’re growing fast! Membership is free and open to all people of 50 plus in the Sevenoaks District.
We gather information that we think might be important to people over 50 and send it to our Members via email or newsletter or on our website.
We’re here to create a voice for our age group wherever we need our voices to be heard. Together, when we get the chance, we will tell the authorities, whoever they may be, what our opinion is.
Our Members tell us what is important to them and we do our best to influence the decision makers in Councils, health organisations, and anyone else who needs it, so that they bear our needs in mind when they are making their decisions. It’s easy to ignore two or three people but hard to ignore the views of 200 and more.

  4. Sevenoaks Historical Society

    Web: www.sevenoakssociety.org.uk/society%20pages/historicalsociety.html
The Sevenoaks Historical Society was formed in 1996 from the History Section of The Sevenoaks Society. It is still in association with The Sevenoaks Society. It is an independent society registered as a separate charity. The reason for independence was so that it could belong to outside history organisations such as the Kent History Federation and the Kent Archaeological Society.
The aims of the Society are to promote the study of history and interest in history, both local and general.
The Sevenoaks Historical Society has at least nine meetings a year with speakers on various historical subjects on both local and general history. It organises tours to places of historical interest in this country and sometimes overseas. It also runs exhibitions and assists others to do the same where there is an historical element. It aims to encourage historical research and publication. It published its first book in 2004 on the history of religion in the Sevenoaks Area.
