Fair Feast 2017 which was held at Otford Methodist Church on Shrove Tuesday raised £1,252 for urgently needed relief work in those parts of East Africa facing famine and continuing conflict. Warmest thanks are extended to everyone who shared in or supported this event in any way. Make a diary note that Shrove Tuesday 2018 is on February 13.

McDonald's on Sevenoaks Road is due to re-open on April 5 having undergone a major digital transformation and reconfiguration of the car park and drive thru lane to accommodate the introduction of side by side ordering, including a new island for signage and amendments to kerb lines.
The restaurant renovations will focus on providing customers with more choice as to how they order and pay, adapting how the food is prepared and served and offering technological features to create an environment that is welcoming and enjoyable. Digital innovation is at the heart of the transformation, with self-order kiosks, free-to-use tablets and a striking layout for customers to enjoy. Another priority for the refurbishment is to incorporate environmental benefits such as in-house recycling and LEDs. The restaurant will also create more job opportunities in store, as they are currently recruiting locally.
The Reopening Ceremony will take place at 08.30a.m. on Friday April 7 to which local MP Michael Fallon has been invited together with members of the Parish Council Planning Committee.

    Otford Heritage Centre
is seeking more volunteers to run the centre's shop, help arrange the stewarding rota, serve as press officer or meetings secretary and help with running Coffee and Cake mornings. If you feel tempted to offer to help, please ring Doug Cracknell 01959 522325 or email douglascracknell@aol.com and he will be delighted to explore the possibilities with you.

Girlguiding Otford would like your Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers to benefit the village’s Rainbow, Brownie, Guide and Senior Section units. Vouchers are available until May 2 and as there is no limit to how many they can collect, they ask that you to please spread the word to everyone. Vouchers can be dropped into their collecting box in the Parish Office during normal opening hours.
If you are female, aged 18 or over and interested in finding out more about volunteering and training to become a Leader of the villages Rainbow, Brownie and Guide units they would love to hear from you. Please register your interest at ww.girlguiding.org.uk/get_involved/volunteer.aspx and one of the local leaders will be in touch with you. Volunteering as a leader is hugely rewarding but most of all great fun.

    Red Nose Day

This jovial evenings entertainment is at 7.30pm Friday in the Club Room of the Memorial Hall, High Street. Tickets are available on the door at £5 for adults and £3 for under 14s. Please go along and help support Red Nose Day in Otford.
