    Landlord Liaison Officer (Fixed Term Contract)

    Salary Band D £28,367 to £31,077 (fixed term contract until 31st March 2022)

    A generous annual leave allowance of 27 days (plus an additional 5 days depending on having Continuous Local Government Service).

    The Role

    As a Landlord Liaison Officer you will act as the first point of contact for private landlords/agents who wish to let properties through the Council’s Help to Let private rented housing scheme.

    This post if responsible for the development and management of the Council’s tenant finding scheme (Help to Let). You will work to improve access to and increase successful take up of sustainable private sector options by providing an effective and professional liaison service to private landlords.

    You will actively improve and develop professional relationships with letting agents and landlords to increase the accessibility and take up of private sector options by those in housing need.

    You will provide a support service to landlords where successful placements are made and with the assistance of HERO and Housing Advice colleagues to mediate between tenant and landlord should difficulties arise.

    The role would suit an innovative self-starter who has excellent communication and negotiation skills and who is able to work under pressure in a challenging environment.

    The Team

    This is an exciting time to join the housing team who have recently secured funding to develop and expand. You will be joining a dynamic team which consists of the Accommodation Services Team, HERO Team and Housing Advice Team. This particular post is established in the Accommodation Services Team with a direct report to the Accommodation Services Team Leader.

    The Successful Applicant:

    Whilst we are ideally looking for candidates with experience working in a housing department/residential lettings in the private housing sector.

    Ideally the successful candidate has knowledge of housing/homelessness legislation and housing management systems. We are interested in applications from individuals who have an understanding of the issues facing homeless households, and a desire to make a difference.

    This role, whilst part of a wider team, will require you to work on your own initiative, be creative in finding solutions and have a high degree of self-motivation.

    How to get to us:

    Sevenoaks is only half an hour from central London by train. You will be based at the Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks, Kent TN13 1HG. However due to the current pandemic and current Government advice at the time of advert the role will require a combination of both remote and office based working. A free staff car park is available on site.
